Come to Jamaica and it'll be alright

My Country report was on Jamaica. I thought it would interesting to note that music legend, Bob Marley, was born in February 6, 1945 in St. Ann, Jamaica. The countries that border Jamaica are Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and The Bahamas. Jamaica’s form of government is a constitutional parliamentary democracy. There is a lot of gang violence in this country that is sparked by drug trade. It has four daily national newspapers whihc are the Daily Gleaner, the Observer, Jamaica Herald and the Star. The Star is a afternoon tabloid put out by Gleaner. The Daily Gleaner is the most popular out of the four. It was established in 1834 and is the oldest operating newspaper in the Caribbean. RJR FM “Real Jamaican Radio” was one of the first radio stations in 1972 to have uninterrupted music and it one of Jamaica's most popular radio stations still today. The news service in Jamaica is the Jamaica Information Service. It is also ranked 28th freest according to Reporters without Borders.

The scene that surrounds Jamaica is breath taking and hopefully when I graduate next year, I'll be able to take a vacation or cruise to the Carribean.
