On April 28, The Sydney Morning Herald, published an article that critiqued the media in China. The article is referring to an article by The People's Daily, a mouthpiece of the communist party, that was run by China's official news agency, Xinhua. In more then one article run by The People's Daily they accuse the Dalai Lama of organizing the unrest in Tibet and of dooming Tibet's split from China to failure. They claim that he is doing everything he can to undermine Tibet's stability.
At the end of the story there is a quote from the Dalai Lama that he is open for discussion and peace talks but none are being provided for him from China. It is interesting that The Sydney Morning Herald thought it important enough to report that the Chinese media seems to have a bias and making it appear that it is the Dalai Lama's fault about the unrest in Tibet. I have to assume that other newspapers ran the negative articles as well since it was run by the national news agency.
